Remember the big Pink Container anchored opp Marina South Pier? It is still there on my way to Semakau yesterday.

The big pink vessel is call Conti Germany with length of 163.2 meter. Wonder why it stays there for so long!

I’ve been seeing female & female holding hands very frequently recently. Earlier this week while waiting at the traffic light to cross the road to our favourite coffee shop for lunch with my colleagues, another ‘couple’ holding hands walk pass us.

Immediately I ask my female colleagues what is their take? Well, they just smile ask me to watch carefully….

well, they just show me another way of holding hands… (i guess it really doesn’t matter f & F, m & m or m & f any more. As long as both are happy. I just wonder is the holding hands bring them sense of loving, security or satisfaction?…)

Pink cargo ship spotted outside Marina South Pier on 1st November 2008

I was taking a ferry to Semakau yesterday at Marina South Pier and saw a huge cargo ship painted in Pink! Wow! TT friend of mine will be very happy if she get to dive from this ship!

In Chinese Feng Shui, Pink is the universal color of love, which makes it a perfect color to soothe the energy. Its gentle and delicate feng shui vibrations have a soothing effect on one’s behavior. You could almost say that, Pink literally soothes the heart and fills it with love! Personally, I prefer orange.. ha ha.

Among my friends, other than TT, Qiaoyun also like pink colour. For all my friends who love pink, this is my special dedication to you…

Despite the unpleasant encounter over the service level about our accomodation, the beautiful scenery really make our day.

Firstly, they got my booking confirmation mess up. 2 nights accommodation become just one night. When I check with the counter, “My computer only show one night!!”. I have to repeat myself so many times before they are willing to take out my voucher and have a second look.

Looks like they want me to leave and find my 2nd night accommodation at some where else? As a front-line staff, is this the correct way of treating customers? Or is it too dependent on the system, the voucher is simply just for show, and they not even bother want to verify or check it when we check in.

Secondly, I was denied entry to my room on the next day. When I check with the counter again, they give me long lecture!! “You should not keep your room key together or near your mobile!”. I’m sure most of us carry more than one plastic card in our wallet everywhere we go. Couldn’t understand why this room key are so sensitive compare to other plastic cards? All for keys for 2 rooms hold by 4 different people are all damaged by mobile phone? Why can’t they just admit they did not update my status for the second time?

I can hardly shake any pepper or salt out of these bottles…

Worse, no news from anyone of them except the auto-reply email when I feedback to them 2 weeks ago. Mmm… no doubt this is the “Best Customer Service” that I ever received from such a leading hotels.

*added on 22 Oct – I finally received the reply from the GM few hours later after this posting. Despite all the hiccups, this hotel remains my first choice for its locality. Hopefully, they are really buffing up the customer service!

Well, after the short, long week end of Hari Raya. Back at work today in the final quarter of 2008. Usually, time past really fast for me before the end of the year. Mainly I will be :

1. busy arranging for corporate gifts, calander, planner, greeting cards, and all the business reports.
2. clearing any outstanding annual leave
3. festive season with lots of party
4. I have 4 more holiday planned for this quarter with 2 diving trip, one shopping spree & one back pack travel.

wow….now time not enough liao! :p

If you are one of those who lunch out with colleagues, you will agree with me that one of the very popular discussions is about what to eat! For me, as long as there are veggies, I’m fine. However, my colleagues not as ‘chin chye’ as me lor. This one too long queue la, that one too oily, the other one not fresh, the other one I just have it the other day…… all kinds of valid reason to rule out one by one.

There are at least 3 hawker centers, 4 cafeterias & 10 coffee shops within 40 metres radius from our office (excluding at least another 5 fast food restaurant). With so many food outlets yet people are complaining don’t know what to eat! Is it simply limited variety, food fatigue, lazy to walk/queue or are we spoilt for choice?

I was travelling at Marina Boulevard around 2.50pm and was told by an officer that the Marina Coastal Drive that leading to Marina South Pier is closed. Very kind of him and a group of temp from MPA(?) to direct traffic to park at either Car Park B or The Marina Barrage area and there will be feeder service between there and the Marina South Pier. Apparently the feeder services stop at 7.30pm and I will only be back to mainland after 9.30pm. I don’t want to walk all the way to Car Park B later at night and since I still have some times before my ferry departure time, I make a ‘U’ turn and park at Shenton Way and take a cab there instead.

I am puzzled when I reach the same spot and there wasn’t any road closure. All lanes are open to traffic! My friend told me that the road closure is only up to 3.00pm. ‘#%@*…’ They care enough taking time to explain to me the alternative parking arrangement…. I just don’t understand why can’t they just tell me that the road will re-open in few minutes time! I can just go over to the alternative car park wait for few minutes and come back at 3.00pm!

I guess doing things and follow SOP blindly doesn’t always serves customers right.
